GIRLS’ SCHOOLS MATTER

Issues and challenges relevant to governors of girls’ schools

About the Breakfast Seminar:

This session examines some of the trends and issues in single-sex schooling for girls
within and beyond Australia. It includes discussion of academic performance, health matters, the development of gender identity, leadership and the acquisition of skills required for effective engagement with the world of the 21st century.

How are these trends and issues relevant for Chairs and governors of girls’ schools? How can they support opportunities for women? What are the strategic implications for their schools?

The format includes a presentation by Dr Leoni Degenhardt, small-group discussion of key questions with a Principal of a girls’ school, and a plenary question and answer session.
